We have successfully integrated Financial and Sustainability reporting, in compliance with the Balanced Scorecard Principle of Sustainability that requires businesses to focus not just on their financial but also, environmental, social and governance performance.
To further demonstrate the balance scorecard approach, the annual report and sustainability report are co-presented to the public through the Nigerian Stock Exchange’s Fact Behind the Report and Facts Behind the Sustainability Report platforms. Facts behind the figures. This is also in fulfilment of the Nigerian Stock Exchange Sustainability Disclosure Guidelines as a company listed on the premium board of the Exchange. DCP was the first listed company to leverage the NSE Sustainability disclosure platform in 2019.
We are committed to achieving regulatory compliance and have benchmarked our reporting against various local and global standards, including GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards, Nigerian Code of Corporate Governance (NCCG), Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA), United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) Code of Corporate Governance and the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) Sustainability Disclosure Guidelines, all of which provide guidance on best practices for driving a sustainable business. Our Communication on Progress report is submitted annually to the UNGC and it delineates the strides we have attained in advancement of the ten principles of the UNGC.
